Dear friends and guests! My name is Yulia Basova. In real life I am a scientist and a teacher, have a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. Even while writing these lines, I alternate writing with reading my technical papers. Although involved in another form of "artistic expression" as a professional chemist for many years, I have always been drawn to the visual arts. I love to create things. I like looking around and seeing beauty - it just makes me want to capture an image to share it with others or to use it as an idea for my knitting. The nature of my work made me a world traveler, naturally, armed with a photo camera. The camera eye gave me a unique chance to capture moments in time that will never occur again or places that I would never visit again. It became my best friend. It also gave me the greatest gift to share moments of unforgettable travel experiences as well as flashes of beauty at home and to allow people a glimpse into my heart and feelings through my pictures.
