I like this a lot Aimee. It's reminiscence of a young cub peaking out from the protective cover of a mother lion. Lovely soft treatment with wonderful color matching of the background. The background lighting is a very nice touch. #1293281Jeff E Jensen July 30, 2010
Two thumbs up for this one Aimee! #8796009Peter W. Marks July 30, 2010
Wow Aimee, I do believe I have finally got through to our ancient friend and he is now seeing 'stories' in images. He will be writing poetry next!

Thanks my Phellos! I'm very happy with this one and think it's going to end up my favorite from the photo walk. I'll show ya all the original and say that I did add a texture to it and did use a Florabella filter to get the intial look of richness I wanted. I did some selective blurring, some burning of highlights and added a vignette, also applied a high pass filter to key areas on the flowers.I'm so sorry I'm not able to give step by step directions to how I do things. When ending I have no logical process of work. I just open the image and what jumps out at me first is what I work on then once that is done I'm inspired by something else in the image. I almost never know what the end result of a photo will be until I get there. I know Dale will work diligently for weeks even to devise a process to get a certain look from images....I really applaud him for that. Not an easy task! :~) #8799349

Aimee, I work that way also and then try to remember what the heck I did!! Labeling the layers has helped me retain a bit from time to time. The bottom line is that you had a very good image with excellent DOF and good composition to start with. So not only did you achieve photographic excellence when taking the shot but placed the frosting on the cake with out standing creativity during the post processing. Your skill is growing in leaps and bounds. #8799514
Aimee C. Eisaman August 01, 2010
O Dale thank you for making me feel better! LOL I have been working lately on getting better exposure and DOF in camera! :~) #8799524Peter W. Marks August 01, 2010
And all the above beautifully explains why I never get winners. What can't be photogrsphed in five minutes I pass by and what takes over ten minutes of head-scratching in Photoshop merely confirms I should have taken longer to make the image in the first place!

Peter....I get aggrivated if I can't spend some time on photographing one thing. The photowalk was nice, but I had to leave what I was working on all the time because the group was moving on. I guess we all have our ways!!! :~) Thanks!Thank you Ellen I had wanted to enter this as my photowalk contest entry, but I already put the butterflies in and for some reason the site won't let me change it even though they have a button for that. :~)
:~) Carla....I'm certain that you know more than you think after seen the work you do. Don't worry one day you'll be working on an image and light bulbs will come on....happens to me all the time. O...so that's what that button does! LOL Thanks!
Teresa you want lessons from someone that can't remember how I did it! LOL You crack me up! :~) Thank you though you make me smile! #8802372

Thanks for the ideas on printing. Well it's between metallic and matte. I'd love to do a canvas wrap, but I'd lose the comp because it's so close the to edges. :~) #8909844
